Motion #2955
closedCreate a workgroup against ACTA
100%
Description
For: präsidium
Context:
Anti-ACTA protest has been strong these last months. There were a lot of spontaneous demonstrations (anonymous) and some organised by PP in Europe.
These demonstrations have created sufficient pressure for some government and parliaments to reconsider ACTA. We should continue the effort.
The website stopp-acta.info (owned by PPS) has been widely publicized, however no activity has taken place on it. Requests were sent to the admin with no answer.
There are volunteers within PPS to animate the anti-ACTA campaign. I (Cedric Jeanneret - PP-VD) volunteer to lead the action.
Motion:
1- To create a workgroup against ACTA -- YES/NO
2- To redirect stopp-acta.info domain to some other website, more up-to-date (to be determinated) -- YES/NO
Thanks in advance for your attention.
Cheers,
C.

(i'm still in learning phase of using the ticket system, motion process, etc.. tell me if i do something against the 'rules')
In my opinion, a great initiative I support, I read ACTA and took part at the demonstration in Lausanne (PP-VD was there too), was then cited by LeMatin. The PPS should do more to inform the public about ACTA, if we have the motived people, let's do it.
My answers to the motion:
1- YES
2- -- (i don't know the whereabouts concerning the website and so on, i don't have enough information to make a decision)
Cheers, Charly
