Description
Steps¶
What steps did you follow?
- Sending a Mail using Thunderbird over the smtp.piratenpartei.ch Server.
Observation¶
What has happened?
- Thunderbird returns an Error message. (See "pps_SMTP Error.JPG")
Fix¶
- Switching the port in your Account Settings -> Outgoing Server (SMTP) -> your.mail@piratenpartei.ch -> Edit... -> Change the Port from 25 to 587 (See "pps_SMTP Error_fix.JPG")
Notes¶
I'm adding this here just in case somebody has experienced the same error over the last couple of days and didn't fix it already. Thunderbird does not tell you that it might be a port issue until you switch STARTTLS off. Then you receive the swisscom Antispam Info. (See pps_SMTP Error_swisscom message.JPG)
It might be useful to add this information to the knowledge base article about Mail configuration:
