Using NGINX instead of Apache [D,V]

While changing the resource allocation of our VMs Exception and I (Corvus) discovered that Apache consumes the most of our resources. In a discussion with bmstetting from the "Bundes IT" germany he told me about NGIX which uses less resources by more output. I did some experiment and finally installed NGINX on herman and the result is quite amazing.

Apophis: Zu kurze Namen führen zu Überschneidungen. Sprachneutralität bei längeren begriffen nicht mehr möglich. Corvus, Exception stimmen zu.

Is there an application that consumes as much as it can get and therefore should be restricted?

Conclusion: Some process wants to allocate a 2.5MB buffer. We do not know which process. Exception investigates.

Roadmap for Drupal [D]

A quick switch to Drupal 7 seems to be unlikely. What shall we do meanwhile?
