Description
Yesterday my colleges brought to topic of the www forth-level-domain to my attention. Apparently in newspaper articles and on official OOo-templates our section web address was stated as www.zh.piratenpartei.ch. This does not work, of course, because it is not set up, nor did we plan to set it up. Now, either we start delivering the webpage on both zh.piratenpartei.ch and www.zh.piratenpartei.ch, or (better) we install a redirect on www.zh.piratenpartei.ch to zh.piratenpartei.ch. Using the second solution, the users learn that the www-part of a domain is only a tradition, completely optional and by no means necessary. Also it would emphasize the difference of the sectional page from the national one.
I don't think this is the right place to teach users about the meaning of the different parts in a domain name. To keep the configuration simple I would vote for accepting both, the www and the non-www name for the same virtualhost - then again, this is not really my responsibility...
Thats OK with me. So, could someone please update the vhost of the pirateparty zurich, since there are plans to publish the www.-variant on the hand outs that go to print in a few days? Thanks in advance.

Hey thanks for working on it! At least the URL now redirects to something. Its just, that it is the national page instead of the section. May I be of any assistance in resolving the issue?
I will look into it. I suppose the DNS is pointing to the right server but the server does not know what to do with the request and redirect to the main domain.
The vhost create script does not add www.*.pps.ch aliases to the apache virtual host. Those need to be added manually.
